Oli:
The base was in chaos, first one alarm, then another, an unannounced gate activation, the workers barely had time to jump out of the way, some of the equipment was vaporized in the progress but no one was hurt.
As Oliza stepped onto the ramp she clamped her hands over her ears at all the noise, the sight of weapons made her stop in her tracks, she was not expecting the Gate to be so guarded, but she could not turn back now.
Larson:
Why was it then whenever one alarm was triggered another went off as well. It was like clockwork no matter where Larson was deployed. Then of course there was the wonderful ‘Base is under ground assault’……that had always been one of his favorite. To go along with that they were always changing the voice over the speaker as well. At least these alarms didn’t have any automated voices.
Larson was still cursing in Welsh when he entered the gate room to see Oliza standing on the ramp looking to be a combination of surprised and unsure. “Weapons down, men. Unless she’s hiding something more then a boot knife on her person….we should be fine.”
This didn’t stop Larson from having his S14 up and aimed at her forehead. “Now tell me, luv. How did you get here?”
Oli:
Oliza heard the barked order and understood the words which surprised her more than anything, she was hardly very well educated and only spoke a few rudimentary language to better serve her Lady. This is one language she'd never even heard before but she knew the words.
When Larson approaches she takes a step back, eyes on his weapons, her hands though no longer covering her ears were now at shoulder level, his question had been valid though. "I followed." The words sounding strange in her mouth, she blinked.
Larson:
She followed…..just wonderful, Larson knew that he should have destroyed the DHD when he had first thought about it. At least then people wouldn’t be able to follow them back here. There was very little that 3 blocks of C4 couldn’t destroy. Sure, Kitty would have wanted to rip him a new one for ‘Going against regs.’ But, this was a civilian outfit that didn’t answer to anyone but those that funded them.
Well, on the plus side this young woman could speak their language at least. “Who exactly did you follow?”
Oli:
She glanced around the room at everyone that had gathered before looking back to Larson. "You?" When Larson had returned with Maxwell and the others not that long ago. She'd been there, at the temple, investigating her Lady's kidnapping. She knew better than to think Lord Ra had anything to do with this.
"Take me to my Lady." Not really used to giving orders, not really expecting them to be followed either, but her intentions had to be clear, she was here for one reason only. Take her place at her Lady's side.
Larson:
Now he really felt that he should have destroyed the DHD when had gotten the chance to. Somehow he knew that decisions like these would get him into trouble. Hell, there had been a number of choices he had made over the years that had come back to haunt him. Least of which was this young lady that looked and sounded so much like his deceased wife. “So, you followed us back home?” He smirked and placed his S14 back in its holster and flicked the safety back on.
“And who exactly is this lady that you speak of? We have a number of women who are employed here.” He knew who she was looking for but he wanted to hear more than a command from her lips. He pulled a Camel Filter from the pack in his pocket with his teeth and lit it, inhaling a tiny bit.
Oli:
She was about to answer when he put something in his mouth and lit it with fire. Was this person insane? And ohh the smell. Oliza made a face and took another step back putting a hand over her mouth and nose. "What is that stench?" How was she supposed to speak when that smoke..thing..was everywhere.
At least he put his weapon away. "My Lady, the Goddess Diana, you have her here, she will have need of me." Has been with Diana for years, she was bred and raised to be what she is, her entire existence has been for her Lady.
Larson:
He blinked a few times, surely these Parasites that kept servants informed them of such things as Tobacco. “This is a cigarette…” He noticed her discomfort and snubbed the cigarette out on the ramp on the side farthest away from Oli.
So, this young lady was another that seemed to believe that this Diana….this Parasite was a Goddess. It was almost enough to make him laugh. Sure, they had technology far advanced but even that could not stem death let alone protect from everything. “And why exactly will she have need of you, luv?”
Oli:
Seeing him get rid of the foul stick, thing she relaxes a bit. At least he didn't look like he was trying to poison her or something, how such a race could survive breathing that smoke..they could be Gods too? How else would they have captured her Lady. Her eyes grow wide at the sudden revelation.
"I am Lo'taur." The word did not translate, even to Larson’s ears. "I serve my Lady." What other explanation could she give, all Gods had servants and slaves, they built the empires and fought the wars in service of their Gods. "Please, may I go to her?". She looked a bit desperate.
Larson:
He didn’t know what was going on in Oli’s head. But, if he knew what was going on in her head, especially if she was suddenly beginning to think that they themselves were gods themselves. He would be rolling on the floor laughing right then and there. Of course, Larson hadn’t been one to laugh much at all since his wife’s murder.
“So than either you are a servant or a slave….” He looked over at her. “Same sort of word the only real difference is semantics.” He looked her up and down. “I can’t promise anything immediately, Miss…..” How the hell did he become a diplomat all of the sudden, Alternity should have people for this sort of thing not a Military man. “I will need you to relinquish your knife while you are with us…..security purposes.”
Oli:
"My name is Oliza." Her hand goes to the knife as she glances around at all the armed people. "Would you so willingly give your weapon to one who might be an enemy?" It's not like she had a choice and she knew it, not her world, not her rules. "Will it be returned to me?" She looks to Larson but avoids direct eye contact.
Larson:
“Well, Oliza you can call me either Andrew or Larson.” He could understand her unease, because he would be feeling much the same way as she was if he was in her position. But, he did have a fake back molar that was filled with a fuse and a fake palette on the roof of his mouth with enough C4 that it could be used to blow a lock. “If that were the only option to see my goddess, then yes I would.”
”You my oath upon my own honor that your blade shall be returned to you, Oliza.” He found it interesting that Oli refused to look him in the eyes, but it might have to do that she seemed to think that they themselves might be gods.
Oli:
Oliza has to concede to that, if only that it means she will be taken to see her Lady. She removes the belt holding the dagger sheath from her hips and holds it out to Larson. "My fate is in your hands, please treat it well." She makes sure her hands never touch his when he takes the weapon from her. "May I please see my Lady, now?"
Larson:
Oli was making it tough on him and she didn’t even know it yet. She looked so much like Anna it hurt him deeply, she sounded somewhat similar to what Anna had sounded like as well. Of course, Anna hadn’t been duped into believe that some Parasite infesting a host was a goddess. He still had trouble understanding how a strong thinking person could believe something like that.
He took the blade and smiled at Oli. “Your possessions will be safe with me until you leave this place at which point I shall return them to you personally.” He ordered the men to move out of the way. “Before we go and see your Lady Diana, I would like to make sure you eat first.”
Oli:
"No thank you, please, I must see her, My Lady will have need of me." One track mind, Oliza could be stubborn when she felt so strongly about something and this was her God, her Master, she couldn't just sit down and eat when her Lady was being held against her will. The least she could do is share her fate.
Larson:
He almost wanted to growl, why were some people so stubborn when they did not have absolute have to be. “For the moment your lady will have to do without you, Oliza.” He looked over at her as he moved her through the soldiers.
“I have to make sure that you are cleared through the doctor first, before we can move any further.” He had been hoping to get her some food before the formalities bagan.
Oli:
"Why do you insist on turning me from my path? I have no need of a healer, I am perfectly fit, I was bred to be strong and healthy, I have never been ill. Please take me to my Lady." Bred, born raised to be a servant to her Lady, there is nothing she wants more right now than to serve. But she has to admit, this strange place s very distracting. She eyes all the people that they pass curiously.
"Whom do you serve?"
The base was in chaos, first one alarm, then another, an unannounced gate activation, the workers barely had time to jump out of the way, some of the equipment was vaporized in the progress but no one was hurt.
