*Midtown Manhattan was still suffering from the lingering effects of the clique/new gods plot that unleashed giant insects and dinosaurs upon it. Construction crews were working around the clock repairing the damage now the creatures had all been captured or destroyed. However...many buildings survived with no damage at all. One such structure was the Hellfire club.
Located in central manhattan....just three blocks from avengers mansion...and 7 blocks from Philmont Industries...the clubs had been a place where the rich and powerful have met for centuries. The fates of companies and even countries had been decided here. But unknown even to most members....the club was secretly run by a shadowy organization known as the inner circle.
The present group in control of this powerful group were spilit into two factions named after chess pieces. The black...and the white group held utter sway. The leader of the black group....the black himself was none other than Winston Philmont....who was secretly the master criminal....the Schemer. With him was his consort....and long suffering lover....Adrianna Philmont....who was black queen of the club.
The Schemer had called a secret meeting tonight so as to address a situation that came to light during the clique's recent theft of a billion euros from an american transport. On board...were weapons seemingly designed to specifically to deal with the people of atlantis.
The Schemer had invited Llyron....the clubs white king...and arch foe to this meeting. He was curious how he would proceed against the united states since he had made Llyron aware of the weapons.
Within the great circular room where the business of the hellfire club took place....The Schemer waited with with beloved Adrianna....who was better known to the world as Hard Core...the clique's field general.*

What foolishness IS this? We are a technological power, with nuclear and biological capacities far beyond that of the United States. Furthermore, we are a non-aggressive nation with a thriving tourist industry. How many people, mostly americans and europeans, would have been killed in such an assault.
With the political issues the united states has in the middle east and far east, they drive an assassin's blade into the back of our affiliation with their fine country. Do NOT get me wrong. As for the situation between yourself and the united states....it's your own fault. You are the one that took Thor into custody. I'd not be surprised if a few avengers...or the fantastic four decided to take a hand in securing his release. And considering Tony Strak backs the Avengers....and Reed Richard is leader of the fantastic four....you should be concerned. Both are genius level individuals perhaps on par with yourself.

She watches her darling as he continues his rant...as per usual, while sipping her water. "Thank you Llyron...and the sniffing wasn't for you...it's an allergy issue. This place still smells heavily of smoke."
She sets her obsidian glass down gently and takes a slow deep breath, trying to force herself to relax as her darling settles himself. The kids were calming down again, which was a relief in itself.
"There are genius playing on all sides of this not so cold war. The United States military has always tried to make preparations for whatever attackers may come after them. Atlanteans, mutants, space invaders...everything that the normal flatline human could fear. Though, I don't think anyone expected giant insects, they too were dealt with. Personally, I would rather not see a war at all. I don't want to see the next generation having to deal with the outcome."

"Actually, smells like a cuban blend. Though I don't smoke myself of course. Fault the schemer as you will, he has excellent taste in cigars. And he'll either die or create a cancer cure before he has to worry about the traditional effets. His intellect does perhaps surpass that of the techno-nerds he mentioned before."
He turned to schemer.
"As I said, if I had NOT made a jab at you, they'd have been suspicious. My apologies ... I should have asked your permission first after your magninimous disclosure of the american plans of invasion. Thor is inconcequential. I've already gleaned his genetics and scanned his mind. I'm already preparing to turn him over to the United Nations for further prosecution while securing his weapon in a pocket dimension somewhere. The genetics of the Fantastic Four is too mercurial, and while the genetic makeup of the Avengers is intriguing, it's hardly worth culling compared to that of we mutants. Picture if you will a dozen Spectrums or Landis's attacking Washington."
He smiled to Adrianna again.

Not that I care if they are launched at atlantis.....but if they hit this nation...I'll have to move my operation elsewhere. Taking over japan or Brazil simply would not be the same as besting the united states.

I've faced Richards before. You would be foolish to underestimate him. As to your point on mutants...I'm inclinded to concur. However....if you think Odin will not magically return Thor's hammer to him....you're are again underestimating a foe. But then again....if you draw him out...that will work just fine. I do have designs on taking over asgard at somepoint....and Odin is the most potent force I would have to face in such an endevor.
*He winced at the thought of a dozen landis's and Spectrum's. In both cases....one was more than enough. Then he began flattering Adrianna again.*

She wondered about places to vacation...Atlantis was out, as somehow she felt that a genetic sample would get into Llyron's hands, if he didn't have one already. Brazil, despite her darling's paranoia was a fairly safe place to go...more so than Mexico. She'd considered Australia...which had more dangerous things living in it than Brazil, so her darling would probably protest that as well. Her mind continued wandering until she heard mention of her name, then blinks a bit after considering going to Africa to have her children.
"It would be easier for you to simply give up smoking, darling." She chuckles softly, before setting her glass back down and forcing herself to her feet...only to let herself lift slightly to prevent her from waddling as she walked...Adrianna was not a duck.

"Adrianna, you KNOW I could have accelerated the baby to birth stay in under 5 days. I myself was live born after less than a week, and we've improved the process since. Better equipment and all. AND your child could be brought to adulthood. We DID repopulate in under 4 years with such techniques. Not suggesting ... but it is an option."
